POSITION OVERVIEW

The Junior Estimator is responsible for the preliminary design and pricing for ducting products and materials as well as assisting with proposal development. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefit package.

STRUCTURE

This position will report to the Manager, Projects and Proposals – Air Emissions.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITY

The Junior Estimator will work closely with the Manager of Projects and Proposals to assist with seamless operations throughout division by executing the following:

• Responsible for the preparation of preliminary planning and estimating
• Coordinates preliminary designs of ducting products
• Recording and comparing bids from multiple vendors and subcontractors
• Responsible for writing Scope of Work (RFQs) specifications and bid pricing spreadsheet
• Responsible for soliciting vendor quotes in conjunction with Procurement
• Required to attend pre-bid and design meetings
• Assists with Change Orders to operations as required
• Ensures company procedures and policies are adhered to and followed
• Assist with preparation of proposals
• Assist in responding to Bid Clarification questions
• Assist in finding ways to reduce costs of equipment and supplies
• Resolve or elevates issues in a timely fashion.
• Assist with automation, incorporating new software and working with existing platforms

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Strong math skills
• Proficient understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications
• Basic 2-D analytic CAD skills.
• Ability to prepare customized estimate proposals for specific projects
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and due dates.
• Ability to read client project specifications and highlight applicable estimate details.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly proficient in Excel. Strong computer software skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Post-secondary education in a related field coupled with 3years’ experience in an estimating position
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Polish and/or German is an asset
