EnergyLink International is excited to announce that we are nearing substantial completion of an acoustic barrier and enclosure project for our client in Omaha, Nebraska. This project complements the recently completed acoustic building at a nearby site, where EnergyLink guarantees compliance with stringent low frequency (dBC) noise limits. The barrier and enclosure will contain noise from a large-frame gas turbine used as backup power for the abundant renewable energy resources in the area.

Mike Waugh – Senior Manager, Construction, and Wild Guevara P.Eng – Project Manager, have ensured the safe and timely completion of this high-quality work. EnergyLink International’s site-wide acoustic guarantee is made possible through the expertise of Chris Giesbrecht – Senior Manager, Engineering, who designed the acoustic exhaust and boundary barrier walls, and Gustavo Elgueta – Noise Emissions SME, who will ensure that they perform as designed.

The completion of this project is yet another testament to EnergyLink’s unwavering commitment to excellence, and how we are constantly connecting you to a better way.

We invite you to talk with our team on LinkedIn and find out more about the people connecting you to a better way.

EnergyLink International is proud to be a respected leader in air emission reduction. As the demand for renewable energy grows, we steadfastly commit to supporting our partners in navigating the evolving grid challenges. Our dedication to this cause is unwavering.

We are excited to announce the supply of 12 additional selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to our esteemed client, a leading third-party backup and peaking power generator in Texas. This partnership is a testament to our commitment to environmental sustainability and grid stability. Furthermore, it strengthens our leadership position with SCR technology, as in the past four years, we have designed, manufactured, and commissioned the most SCR systems for simple cycle applications in the world… all with a 100% success rate of hitting performance targets.

As a global leader, we understand that one of the key challenges for power producers and grid operators is the ‘duck curve,’ or production dips during adverse weather or non-production periods. To ensure grid stability during these times, gas-fired turbines are often used. Our SCR systems, which significantly reduce emissions from these turbines, are not just instrumental in addressing this issue, but they are also making a positive impact on the environment. Also, our emissions tracking software shows record times from start-up to full compliance, resulting in longer gas turbine runs and higher operator profits.

EnergyLink, a trusted partner with a proven track record, has installed, fabricated, and maintained over 60 custom SCR systems across Texas for this leading provider. Our client’s efforts align with ERCOT’s expanding energy needs, providing essential reliability while significantly reducing environmental impact.

Supporting energy providers in achieving clean and reliable energy is another way EnergyLink is connecting you to a better way.

Last year, we celebrated significant strides on a custom designed acoustic building project in Omaha, Nebraska. EnergyLink International is proud to share that we are approaching substantial completion on our scope of work supporting our client.

Mike Waugh – Senior Manager, Construction and Colin Martin – Project Manager, have led our team throughout the scope of work, ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of work from start to finish. They have demonstrated their unwavering dedication to safety and efficiency, navigating the construction of one of the heaviest steel envelopes on record without incident and minimal deviation from the original forecasted timeline.

Chris Giesbrecht – Senior Manager, Engineering, custom designed the building with complete utility and safety services for a true turnkey experience. Additionally, to address noise concerns at the site of the plant, Chris has designed a custom ventilation cooling system utilizing heavy steal casing and large silencer baffles providing industry leading low-frequency noise attenuation not possible with standard commercial HVAC equipment.

The successful completion of this project is another example of how EnergyLink is connecting you to a better way.

We are pleased to announce a noteworthy advancement in our collective pursuit to advance the American energy landscape: our work towards the Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE) Astoria converter station has reached significant progress of work and we celebrated the Topping Out for the station today on March 27, 2024. We are proud to have contributed our expertise towards the construction of the Astoria converter station, supporting Kiewit’s activities in New York City region as part of their 146 miles (235 km) of on-land construction.

This milestone signifies a pivotal step forward to supplying the New York power grid with 1,250 MW of renewable energy and progressing New York towards their environmental goals. Under the guidance of Derek Wallace, PMP, C.Tech, Director of Projects, and oversight of Colin Martin, Sr. Project Manager & Mike Waugh, Sr. Manager, Construction, our team continues to work diligently to achieve important milestones while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety reflecting EnergyLink and Kiewit’s commitment to empowering the future of New York’s energy grid.

As previously announced, EnergyLink International was chosen to work with a team of leading companies on a clean energy transmission project in support of innovating the American energy grid, using high voltage direct current (HVDC). Today, as part of a major milestone update, EnergyLink’s on-site scope of work has begun in support of Kiewit in their construction activities towards the Champlain Hudson Power Express (CHPE).

As a a recognized authority in construction, Kiewit was selected to lead on-land construction activity for the entirety of CHPE HVDC route, of 146 miles (235 km) of on-land infrastructure for the 339-mile (546 km) transmission line, as well as the construction of a converter station in Astoria, Queens. Due to our extensive experience and strong reputation for delivering sound solutions to complex challenges, EnergyLink was chosen to support Kiewit in this endeavor by fabricating and installing custom designed envelopes to house the converter station processing equipment. Derek Wallace, PMP, C.Tech (Director of Projects) continues to lead our team to achieve milestones on schedule while Mike Waugh (Sr. Manager, Construction) will oversee the highest quality of work while ensuring safe installation of all structural steel, custom-envelopes, HVAC systems, plumbing, fire suppression and finish systems for a true turnkey experience.

CHPE is New York’s first Tier 4 project as part of the state’s Large-Scale Renewables Program. Tier 4 projects aim to responsibly deliver affordable renewable energy to New York City, the largest energy load region in America. With an energy grid consisting of nearly 90% carbon-fired electricity and geographic isolation from renewable power generation projects, CHPE represents a significant step forward towards achieving New York’s goal of transitioning to a zero-emissions grid by 2040. Upon completion, CHPE will deliver 1,250 MW of renewable energy from Quebec – enough to power over a million homes and retire 14 out of the 15 peaking generating plants in New York City.

Supporting leading companies in bringing projects to life is another example of how EnergyLink is connecting you to a better way.
